From the 13th of September 2015 until the 8th of May 2016, the doors of the Temporary Fashion Museum in Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam are opened. With an extensive program – containing of expositions, installations, performances and events – the Temporary Fashion museum will highlight several interesting aspects of fashion.
The Netherlands does not have a national fashion museum however Het Nieuwe Instituut will discover the possibilities in these eight months. Within the Temporary Fashion Museum the past, present and future will collide and will start up a conversation. What does the fashion industry look like nowadays, what keeps designers busy, what will the future look like and so on. The Temporary Fashion Museum has been assembled by multiple people from the industry such as; Guus Beumer, fashion journalist Georgette Koning, designers Alexander van Slobbe and Fransisco van Benthum.
