ARKET means ‘sheet of paper’ in Swedish. It combines concepts that were often returned to while developing the brand: Archive, archetypes and the market. A modern-day market offering essential products for men, women, children, the home and the stores also include a café based on the New Nordic Food Manifesto.
ARKET’s mission is to democratize quality through widely accessible, well-made, durable products, designed to be used and loved for a long time. And because there is no need to reinvent products that have already been perfected, ARKET’s collection is complemented by the best from other brands- mainly of shoes, accessories and homeware.
Moreover, sustainability has been a primary consideration in developing the ARKET brand and naturally incorporated in all processes, from the choice of suppliers and materials to inform customers about how to care for their products to prolong their lifespan.
The first store opened on Regent Street in London in 2017 and on arket.com in 18 European countries, followed by stores in Brussels, Copenhagen and Munich. The head office and design studio is located in Stockholm.
